Joe Biden Sighting at Home Depot
I just saw Joe Biden at Home Depot. I'm not sure he's well. He was ranting that it was the most dangerous Home Depot we've had probably in American history, because vices were not where he thought they were and because he’d been forced down in electrical. When the manager asked him what he was talking about, he flashed some crazy, bleached out smile, said he had to kick Hezbollah out of hardware, and invited us all to Katie’s Restaurant without pre-conditions.

I want Biden to be our vice president, and Palin can be my secret vice, that is unless your Larry Craig or Mark Foley
That's odd! I ran into Sarah Palin incessantly spouting gibberish on Main Street!
Wonder what brings her to Utah? Guests on a radio show/GOP infomercial perhaps?
:)
Joe Biden saying stuff like this is almost as ridiculous as Sarah Palin suggesting to America that she is qualified to "gosh darn" run this country.
Sa,
Please share your analysis of Obama's qualifications exceeding those of Palin. Leave out the campaigning for the job stuff, and you'll set a new standard, if you manage to come up with anything on O's scorecard. The world is waiting to hear about his legislative and senatorial accomplishments, how he went to the mat with big industries and won, and how he took on the worst elements in his own party and won. I'll give you $5 for every significant accomplishment you can mention that O has had in office. By that, I mean any governing, not politicking, accomplishment that rises above the standard of anything a run-of-the-mill state senator or freshman U.S. Senator might do. If you want to take me up on this, we can pick a neutral we both respect, and you can submit your list. I'm sure it will be stunning.
And, gosh darn, I'd much rather have someone speak like people tend to speak than have an arrogant foreign policy "expert" bloviate on the Obama/Biden liberation of Lebanon -- which no one can make any sense of, no matter how hard they try.
Golly, I'd say, more than confusing a name or blanking on various issues, which people do tend to do, making up imagined military campaigns is simply bizzare.
C'mon Steve, you know better than most that you cannot get anything significant done as a Jr. Senator.
I never claimed Obama to have a great wealth of experience or accomplishment for that matter. If anyone has, they are just being defensive and it probably doesn't hold up. I'm not sure of the relevance anyway. Nobody on either ticket has ever been president.
So lets look at a few other things:
Who seems more rational?
Who seems more level headed?
Who seems more likely to actually think problems through than to shoot from the hip?
Who has a better understanding of the importance of the US Constitution?
Who seems to have a better understanding of the World in general?
Palin is a one hit wonder. No question, as you have mentioned her accomplishments against "the man" in Alaska are impressive. But that does not a good leader make. We've tried hiring someone with no real understanding of foreign issues before. Palin is so much like Bush its scary.
I'll take you up on your offer, but you have to make a list of anything of substance Palin has said in the last 6 weeks, that is not a generic campaign slogan and that doesn't include the word Maverick. The list has to be true things, not just things she has made up. They need to be specific. They should demonstrate how a McCain/Palin administration would be materially different than Bush/Cheney.
Good luck!
PS.
This is not to mention, I have heard you say "John McCain is actually crazy. He's not right in the head."
As much as you may think Palin is awesome, are you really willing to vote for a crazy person?
Sa,
First, as to experience and accomplishment, lots of people who were running had both. McCain has both. Biden has both.
My main point on much of my Palin commentary is how silly it is that Obama supporters want to dish on Palin's gravitas while totally ignoring Obama's lack thereof. They both are exceptional people, who happen to be pretty new to the scene. If you can't step outside the partisan yammering for a second and see Palin's greatness, you're missing a lot of what life has to offer.
"We've tried hiring someone with no real understanding of foreign issues before. Palin is so much like Bush its scary."
Actually, 4 of our last 5 presidents had as much foreign policy experience as Palin when they took office. As governors, they brought executive experience, and learned the details.
The real rub for me is that I think Obama and Bush are twins in their approach to politics. While they come at it from different sides, they both show no ability or even inclination to do more than pander to the extremes of their party. Bush campaigned on being a consensus guy, like Obama is doing now. Bush, of course, hasn't presided that way. The main difference between the two is that Bush actually did have a history of working with the other side. Obama does not.
I see nothing in Obama that suggests substantive, capital "C" Change. Yes, he's black. Yes, he's young. Yes, he's with the other party. Other than that, where's the Change? If he wins, the keys merely will be handed back over to the other guys. Instead of neo cons running the show, MoveOn.org will run things.
Other than my partisan hacks running the show, your partisan hacks will run the show. That's not change. It's a relapse. If O wins, I would love to be wrong about that.
If people would take time to really learn about Obama and not just let others do their thinking for them, they'd realize that his intelligence, insight and wisdom may account for more than just "experience." Obama was well-respected by both conservatives and liberals while at Harvard. While serving as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review, he had many conservatives on his staff and served as a uniter at a time when there was a lot of contention between the two factions at Harvard. Sarah Palin and McCain apparently just barely squeaked by academically. Sarah's governed a city just barley bigger than Kanab and a state that is awash in oil money, has no state income tax, and gives its citizens $1000-$2000 per year. She has not had to deal with true "economic realities" during her experience. She certainly scares me more than Biden. And, speaking of being scared, it's amazing that people are "scared" of Obama. If his race is so "scary" to them, why not remember that he's half white and give him all the credit that comes with that color, whether earned or not.
