The History of Politicopia

People have asked how I started blogging and how Politicopia was created. I've posted the history over at Politicopia.

Tell your kids we're so sorry. No more hot air baloon rides, no more doughnuts in the hayfields. Paradise lost.

Their clean-cut father stopping strange bearded men on the highway, like a scary hitchhiker movie in reverse....

... but if you help propel America's fragile experiment in self government into a new century of relevance, maybe they'll forgive you.

And when we're all old folks in rocking chairs, and democracy is humming along in our little mountain republic, we'll look over at your spot on the front porch (those of us who still have lucidity and vision) and mumble some kind of thanks.

But throw your kids a doughnut once in a while, just for old times sake.

I'm spoiled by Politicopia. It has become an indespencible part of my day in an effort to become better informed about what my Legislature is up to. It's biggest strengths are, I actually see the devils in the details of the legislation and some effort is made to balance both sides, with at least the most common arguements. Voin Campbell.
